I went to a wedding last night! Via Skype. Ruth has been in the US for a little over two months, and she and Jake got married yesterday afternoon. It was the civil ceremony, they are going to get married in the church by Fr. Greg here in Venezuela. We were able to plug a computer into the projector and have it up on the screen. On the MN side, Robert Hermann, who is Eudis' husband, has skype on his iphone and so we were able to be right there for the whole thing. He was a groomsmen so he was right up close, thus, we were right up close. Ruth's whole family was there to watch, along with a lot of neighbors and friends. It was a loud room with lots of laughing and cheering (here in Venezuela if that was confusing). Most of the ceremony was in English which I was a little surprised by, I thought more would be in Spanish. The vows however, for both Jake and Ruth, were in Spanish.
It was fun to see. Never have I had a friend get married!
